A woman who locked her dog in her car on a hot day says she was forced to sit in the same car by a police officer to see how it felt.

When the animal-loving cop saw the dog in a car park in Ohio he was (rightly) angered.

So when Shelly Nicholas retued, the officer’s bodycam shows him suggesting to her that she should sit in the car where he recorded temperatures of 114F.

He tus to his colleague and says: ‘She gives me an attitude from word one, and then she doesn’t want to close the door. So I’m like, “Oh, but it’s okay if your dog does”.’
