White lady isn't allowed to sue Paula Deen for racism
Sometimes it's real cause for celebration when conventional wisdom actually wins out. The latest minor victory in this particular battle? Lisa Jackson, who is white, is not allowed to sue butter enthusiast/alleged racist Paula Deen for racial discrimination based on the time she worked at Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House, a restaurant owned by Deen.
U.S. District Judge William T. Moore Jr. wrote in a ruling recently that Lisa Jackson is, "at best... an accidental victim of the alleged racial discrimination," and that "her difficulties do not fall within the zone of interests sought to be protected by Title VII." Of course, the damage from Jackson's civil suit has already been done, but it's nice to know common sense occasionally has its day. [Source]
