White House put into lockdown after intruder infiltrates Obama's residence
THE White House was put in a state of lockdown earlier after a "jumper" leapt over a fence and breached the north lawn of the presidential building.

The incident happened just before 4pm local time when the secret service agents began clearing the North Lawn.

The area was evacuated amid fears of a possible terror threat.

Unconfirmed reports suggested that the trouble was caused by a fence jumper – though there was no immediate confirmation.
