UNC sex assault policies investigated after school allegedly punishes student who reported rape
UNC in trouble for allegedly punishing student who reported rape

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is facing a third federal investigation into its sexual assault policies after allegedly punishing sophomore Landen Gambill for publicly reporting her rape. The university is also under investigation for allegedly creating a hostile climate for sexual assault survivors, failing to punish rapists and underreporting sexual misconduct on campus. Gambill was one of five women who filed a federal complaint against the university, claiming UNC created a "hostile" environment for assault survivors. UNC then charged Gambill with an honor code violation for creating a "hostile" environment for her alleged attacker. (Hmm. Something seems odd about that logic.) The investigation will determine whether the charge against Gambill was an act of retaliation. — [Source]
