Town proud of female-crotch related street name
Despite shelling out several hundred bucks every year to replace their frequently-stolen street sign, the tiny town of Embden, Maine (Pop: 993) voted not to change the name of Katie Crotch Road.
Residents are unsure how the road eaed its snicker-worthy name to start with, although, according to MaineToday.com, some people say a Katie family used to live in the 'crotch' (snort) of the intersection, while others claim a woman named Katie always sat on her porch, sans pants.
Marilyn Gorman, 78, is glad that Katie Crotch will remain, um, untouched. "I don't like messing with history [...] unless there's a da good reason for it," she said. "And that's the way it is."
