Suspect In Seminole Homicide Christian Farris Captured After Escape

A man who escaped from a city jail after being booked on suspicion of murder has been rearrested, according to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents.

Christian James Farris, 18, was arrested a second time on Wednesday afteoon after a manhunt in Seminole.

Farris was arrested, booked into the city jail and the escaped from it, according to OSBI agents.

Authorities said helicopters, police cruisers and search dogs were used to track down Farris.

But it was a civilian who finally caught him.

Thomas Frumson said he spotted Farris just a few blocks from the jail.

"He was kind of crouched behind the car. The jumpsuit pants gave him away," Frumson said.

Frumson said he and his friend shouted at Farris and chased him down the street.

"He tripped and then we just jumped on top of him and held him down," Frumson said.

Frumson called it in and waited with Farris until officers arrived, police said.

Farris was arrested in connection with the death of Alvin Walker, 51, of McLoud. Walker was found shot and killed a block away from Seminole High School late Tuesday, family members confirmed to Eyewitness News 5.

A 911 call came in at about 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of West College Avenue. Police arrived and said they found the man dead in the street.

Police said Farris is facing a homicide charge.
