Student finds cocaine in Amazon.com order
Sophie Stockton was understandably unsettled when a baggie of white powder fell out of the "Understanding Terrorism" textbook she'd ordered from Amazon.com.
Fearing it might be anthrax, the college junior took it to her local police station. "He went back and tested it," Stockton told WPTV. "He came back and says, 'You didn't happen to order some cocaine with your textbook did you?'"
Stockton had purchased the book through Amazon's Warehouse Deals page, which offers products that "do not meet Amazon's rigorous standards as 'new'."
The police department estimated the value of the cocaine at $400, or $370 more than Stockton had paid.
