'Stabbed over $20': Teenager 'killed brother's girlfriend Kamisha Richards over loan for diapers and milk

A teenager allegedly fatally stabbed her brother’s girlfriend in a fight over a $20 loan she was given to buy diapers and milk for her baby.

Kayla Henriques, 18, was arrested today for stabbing Kamisha Richards, 22, once in the chest during a fight in Brooklyn, New York, on Monday night, police said.

Richards had allegedly loaned Henriques $20 to buy disposable diapers and milk for her 11-month-old boy, but became angry when the money was spent on other things.

The incident is believed to have started on social networking site Facebook after the women traded online insults, reported the New York Daily News.

Richards posted on Sunday night: ‘Kayla now u getin outa hand...I hope u having fun entertaining the world...Trust, IMA HAVE THE LAST LAUGH!!!’

Henriques’s reply was: ‘We will see.’

In another message, Richards wrote: ‘I don't give a f**k. ... U know ya sister so its not just ova $20 its the principle.

‘It didn't look like she was stabbed,’ said a relative. ‘She just stumbled and I caught her. Then all she said was, “Oh, God.” I tried to help her (and) stop the bleeding.’

Henriques has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, reported NBC New York.

She is known in the neighbourhood as ‘KK’ and was arrested near the crime scene.

Richards was discovered by one of her boyfriend's relatives as he retued from work.

‘She wasn't panicking,’ the relative told the New York Daily News.

‘She was calm. I called the ambulance and put pressure on (the wound). I did everything I could to try to save the girl.’

Her father cried at the crime scene to friends and relatives: ‘My daughter's dead’.

John Jay College of Criminal Justice graduate Richards, who was taken to Brookdale University Hospital, was hoping to apply to law school this autumn.

She worked as a security guard for JPMorgan Chase and was said to regularly help out with Henriques’s baby and be planning his birthday party for May.
