CINCINNATI -- A pair of sportswriters was robbed early Wednesday at gunpoint as they left Great American Ball Park.

According to police, 59-year-old Barry Bloom, a national writer for MLB.com, and another man were leaving the ballpark shortly before 2 a.m. when a man approached them with a gun and demanded their wallets.

Media accounts indicate the second victim was Thomas Harding, who covers the Colorado Rockies for MLB.com.

The Reds lost 3-2 to the Rockies earlier in the evening.

The writers handed over their wallets, and they said the gunman and another man fled toward Newport on the Taylor Southgate Bridge.

Bloom said he lost $400 cash and three credit cards, and the second victim lost $130 cash and four credit cards.

Neither man was injured, and the robbery remains under investigation.
