Sheriff: Rochester Hills Man Roger Germonprez Beat Up 85-Year-Old Neighbor
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. -- The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested a man Monday who they say beat up his 85-year-old neighbor.
Roger Germonprez, 58, is charged with aggravated assault after Sheriff's deputies said he attacked and beat his elderly neighbor in the 200 block of Grosse Pines Drives.
Deputies said they found the victim bleeding from facial lacerations. He told them that he was inside his home when he looked out his window and saw Germonprez throwing twigs and leaves onto his property.
Deputies said the man walked outside to see what was being tossed onto his property when Germonprez suddenly appeared and rushed at him.
Germonprez punched the man in the face, knocking him to the ground, then punched him several more times in the face, the Sheriff's Office said. The man said this was not the first time Germonprez assaulted him.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he received stitches on his nose and in his mouth. He also was treated for a broken nose and he told deputies he broke his tooth and will have to see a dentist, the Sheriff's Office said.
Germonprez was being held at the Oakland County Jail. He was given a $5,000 bond, but is required to move from his home until the case is through.
