Sadoff and Rudoy Industries Worker Daniel Lehner Dies In Industrial Accident
The Fond du Lac Police Department is continuing its investigation into an industrial accident that claimed the life of an employee Wednesday moing at Sadoff Iron & Metal Company.
City fire and police personnel were called to the scrap metal recycling facility at 240 W. Adt St. at 8:16 a.m. for a report of a subject who was trapped in a piece of equipment.
According to dispatch reports, workers on the scene were trying to free 34-year-old Daniel Lehner from a shear. Fond du Lac Police Capt. Steve Klein said Lehner was extricated from the equipment by firefighters and pronounced dead at the scene.

and CEO at Sadoff Iron & Metal Company, said Lehner had been working on a shear, a machine used to cut scrap metal, at the time of the accident.
“All of us at Sadoff and Rudoy are greatly saddened by our employee’s death and our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time,” Lasky said.
Klein said that the Police Department is working closely with the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office.
“Whenever there’s a death, the Police Department does an investigation to make sure there was no foul play,” Klein said. “At this time we’re just trying to piece together what happened and why it occurred. At some point I’m sure OSHA will be involved in the investigation as well.”
