Police: Kohl's employee Jessica Price gave birth, killed baby in bathroom

Louisville Metro police have arrested the mother of a baby found dead in a department store last week.

The baby was found dead in the restroom of the Kohl's store on Standiford Plaza Drive near Preston Highway in Hillview.

The baby’s mother, Jessica Price, 29, is now charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Police said Price was working at the Kohl's store in which delivered, then took the life of her newbo.

"She was at work, went into the restroom for a time. She left and went home and came back to work two hours later," said police homicide Lt. Todd Kessinger.

Kessinger said the body was discovered by another store worker and officers were already on the scene by the time Price retued to store.

"The baby was discovered by another Kohl's worker. He went into the bathroom to change the trash bags and found the baby inside," Kessinger said.

Police said Price cooperated with authorities and admitted to concealing her pregnancy and giving birth at the store.

According to police, the baby died as the result of an intentional act.

Price lives in Bullitt County, about 6 miles from the Kohl's store in Hillview.
