A Pennsylvania mom tried to sew her 16-year-old daughter’s mouth shut and threatened to gouge out the girl’s eyes, police say.

Rana Cooper, of Avella, Pennsylvania, was charged with endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, according to various reports.

Citing a police complaint, KDKA reports that Cooper started to sew the adopted teen’s mouth closed with a needle and thread, but stopped after piercing the girl’s lower lip.

The alleged victim said she was also forced to scrape her finger around the rim of the toilet and eat whatever was left on her finger, as well as being made to consume dirty cat litter and, on more than one occasion, half a tube of toothpaste.

The complaint states that the child was on a “point system”, which required her to work in order to eat, drink and use the bathroom. If she didn’t ea enough points, she would be left to soil herself and go days without drinking.

Cooper is also accused of physical violence against her daughter, including biting her nose, punching her in the face and jamming cotton buds into the girl’s ears until they bled, HLN TV reports.

Police said Cooper had admitted in writing to holding her daughter’s head under water for three to 10 seconds.

But her 24-year-old son, Ronnie, said the allegations of abuse were false.

“Nothing, none of that happened,” Ronnie Cooper told KDKA. “None of these are true.”

Rana Cooper is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on November 6.
