PA man who ‘decapitated dog with machete’ blames the devil
A Pennsylvania man accused of using a machete to decapitate his mother’s Chihuahua has claimed the ‘devil did it’.
Matthew Ondo is facing animal cruelty charges after his father discovered the dead 14-month-old dog named Izzy at their home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, yesterday.
The 30-year-old first denied killing the dog, then claimed the devil, Allah or ‘the Mexican did it’, according to a criminal complaint.
His parents showed police the remains of the dog, along with a bloody machete and butcher knife, when they arrived at the property, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
They told police their son is an unemployed drug addict who has emotional problems.
Ondo is currently in police custody. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 26.
