PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A Coventry police officer has been fired after two women complained he had masturbated in front of them last year.

The Providence Joual reported that Officer Alfred Ferretti Jr. was fired by a Law Enforcement Bill of Rights panel this week.

Ferretti was convicted in February of disorderly conduct after the women told authorities he came to one of their homes while in uniform last June, exposed himself and masturbated. He was sentenced to six months of probation and ordered to undergo counseling.

The women said they had met Ferretti on June 9, 2010 while stuck in traffic at a road construction project where he had been directing traffic. They said he showed up at the house later that day.
