Naked female Spring Breaker 'may be in danger
Police in Bay County, Florida were searching for a young woman on Spring Break who caused concern after being pictured naked wearing only sunglasses and strings of colorful beads while surrounded by men

Photos of a naked, young woman at Spring Break, enclosed in a group of raucous male party-goers, has left authorities fearing for her safety.

Police were searching for the woman who was wearing only sunglasses and colorful necklaces in images shared on social media last week.

The Bay County Sheriff's Office in Florida have not been able to identify the girl and there was not enough background detail in the photographs to pinpoint her location.

A spokeswoman told Daily Mail Online on Friday that authorities were trying to locate the young woman because she appeared very young and they were not sure what was happening in the photos was consensual.

'We want to make sure she is OK, check her well-being and make sure the pictures were consensual,' a sheriff's spokeswoman told The Orlando Sentinel earlier this week.

'We aren't trying to get her into trouble. We want to make sure she isn't in trouble.'

Panama City Beach in Bay County is the country's top destination for students on Spring Break, exploding the 12,000-strong community to 100,000 over four weeks.

Bay County officials were alerted to the photos after they were posted to Twitter on March 11.

In one of the pictures, which have since been removed, the young woman was bent over and dancing at the water's edge on a beach in the Gulf of Mexico.

In a separate shot, she appeared to be trying to cover her body while a group of men gather around her.

In another picture, the scene was more aggressive. The girl appeared to be trying to escape the frame but was surrounded by shirtless men.

One of the men was grabbing the necklace at her throat.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Bay County Sheriff's Office at 850-747-4700 or Crime Stoppers at 850-785-TIPS (8477).

Two deaths have already been reported at Spring Break festivities this year.

A 21-year-old woman fell to her death from a  seventh-floor hotel balcony on South Padre Island in Texas on Wednesday.

A 24-year-old man from Katy, Texas, also died at a private condo on the island over the weekend. His death was still under investigation.

The Bay County sheriff said earlier this week that he was conceed about escalating violence during Spring Break on Panama City Beach.

Sheriff Frank McKeithen said that the number of incidents so far this year shows the changes designed to tone down spring break haven't worked. These included a 2am closing time for alcohol sales.

The sheriff blamed much of the behavior on the so-called '100 milers' who live close enough to drive to the beach for the night. McKeithen said a number of those arrested are well above the college age.

He said offices from nearby Jackson and Gulf counties are coming in to assist with crowd control as people leave the beach at dusk.

So far, there have been 936 arrests.

Spring Break festivities at Panama City Beach last for a month.
