More Molestation Charges Filed Against Local Day Care Worker Matthew Byars
PITTSBURGH -- A Scott Township day care worker has been charged with assaulting two more boys, bringing the total number of molestation cases against him to eight.
Prosecutors filed 16 additional charges against Matthew Byars, 25, on Monday. Police said one boy reported Byars molested him at Tender Care Leaing Center, where Byars worked.
Investigators said the other boy was a family friend who was repeatedly assaulted by Byers up until his July 7 arrest.
Byars is already charged with inappropriately touching six other boys, some of whom he met while working at the day care.
The families of two of the alleged victims have sued the day care center.
Byars remains jailed.
