Manny Ramirez joins Oakland stockpile of DH candidates
Oakland is going from "Moneyball" to Mannyball - the Athletics have taken a flyer on everyone's favorite enigmatic dreadlocked PED-loving slugger, signing Manny Ramirez to a one-year, $500,000 contract Monday.
Ramirez, 39, retired last season after brief stint with the Tampa Bay Rays when he leaed he would have to serve a 100-game suspension for violating baseball's drug policy for a second time.
Ramirez will sit out the first 50 games of the season, which means he'll make his debut sometime in late May or early June, and it should be interesting to see how long it takes Manny to be Manny again.
What’s the ultimate 'Manny being Manny' moment?
