Local Man Dillon Ray Newton Jailed For Threatening School Officials
HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. -- A Hawkins County man is jailed after police say he made threats to school officials while trying to pick up a student from school.
19-year-old Dillon Ray Newton was arrested Wednesday after the school resource officer at Cherokee High School said he appeared to be intoxicated. Officers say he could not sign a juvenile student out of class without parent permission. While being escorted off the property the school resource officers says Newton admitted to having drug paraphealia in his car.
After posting bond, Newton was arrested again on Friday after officers say he made threatening phone calls to the high school blaming a school official for his Wednesday arrest.
