Killer shouts 'Go Cowboys!' as Texas executes him
A diehard Dallas fan yelled, "Go Cowboys!" moments before he was executed by lethal injection in Texas. Before drawing his final breath for the 2001 slaying of a 10-month-old boy, Jesse Joe Heandez also said, "Love y'all, man. Thank you. I can feel it, taste it. It's not bad." Giving a shout-out to a favorite sports team before execution is rare, but it has happened before.
In 2007, Robert Cromer bellowed, "Go Raiders!" after getting the needle. Another convicted man hollered, "Boomer Sooner!" What's next? Concession-stand nachos for the last meal?
