A WOMAN has spent a night in jail for allegedly failing to retu a copy of a Jennifer Lopez movie she rented more than eight years ago.

Kayla Michelle Finley, 27, rented Monster-In-Law in 2005 and was supposed to have retued it to Dalton Video in South Carolina within 72 hours, FOX Carolina reported.

Fast forward to last Thursday — more than eight years after the rental period expired — and Ms Finley was charged with failure to retu a rented video cassette, according to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

A warrant for Ms Finley’s arrest said she was sent several letters asking her to retu the video, but never responded.

Ms Finley has denied getting any waing letters and said she would fight the charges. She spent Thursday night in jail and was released the following day on a $2000 bond, WYFF-TV reported.

Retuing the video now may not help her cause. Dalton Video is no longer in business.
