Kansas City mom Brittany Mugrauer charged after children were found living in wooden crate inside cave
A mother has been charged after her two young children were found living in a wooden crate inside a cave in Kansas City.
A six-year-old and a four-year-old were found in an eight foot by 10 foot crate containing car seats, two small blankets and rubbish. The four-year-old was eating old noodles with their hands from a dirty cup, police said.
Brittany Mugrauer, 24, was arrested over the discovery. She told police that she had left the children in the cave for several days.
The children were taken to hospital to be evaluated. They were bathed and given clean clothes.
