IRS seizes dough from famous Mystic Pizza restaurant
The Mystic Pizza restaurant, in Mystic, Conn., was made famous by a 1988 movie of the same name starring a relatively unknown Julia Roberts (as well as a young Matt Damon). The restaurant is making headlines again for getting in hot water with the IRS.
The U.S. Treasury Department has seized $63,084 from the restaurant after a criminal investigation, according to reports. The money was taken from the account of John Zelepos, George Zelepos and Christos Zelepos in January. The IRS won't say why they took the money, but a legal notice references money laundering.
