Immigration chief Suzanne Barr takes ‘voluntary’ leave after accusations of mistreating male workers

The head of the country’s immigration agency took a leave from her post Tuesday as two more men joined a chorus of others charging her with treating male colleagues like pieces of meat.

Suzanne Barr, chief of staff at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, “voluntarily placed herself on leave” while her agency reviews a recent lawsuit that alleges man-baiting, said ICE Public Affairs Director Brian Hale.

Lawyer Morris Fischer said the new, anonymous accusers stepped forward after he filed the suit on behalf of ICE Special Agent in Charge James T. Hayes Jr.

One of the new accusers recalled a lighthearted October 2009 group conversation at the office of ICE director John Morton that tued awkward fast.

“At some point during the conversation, I witnessed Suzanne Barr tu to senior ICE employee Tae Johnson and state ‘You a sexy mothaf---a!’ She then looked at his crotch and asked, ‘How long is it anyway?’ ” the statement read.

A second man claims he was working as an ICE attaché in Colombia the same year when he attended a party at a U.S. diplomat’s home where Barr drank heavily and approached him, offering him oral sex.

Fischer said that the statements — with accusers’ names included — have been provided to Justice Department defense lawyers as evidence in the pending lawsuit.
