He's above you! Sneaky suspect pictured hiding on roof while cops search property
A photo of a man who hid on a roof while police searched for him has gone viral.
The domestic abuse suspect crawled out onto the roof of the blue-shingled home at 600 block of Lafayette Avenue NE in Grand Rapids, Michigan, while police combed the house looking for him on July 31, reported MLive.
Someone across the street snapped the photo of police fruitlessly searching for the roof-riding suspect and posted it online to Imgur.
It has now been viewed almost three million times on Imgur, where it was uploaded by someone with the handle 'Richdakilla.'
He captioned it, 'They've been looking for him for 10 minutes.'
'While domestic violence isn't funny - that picture sure is,' wrote someone on MLive.
'Oh, [Grand Rapids] police, you never cease to amaze me,' another person commented on Imgur.
The photo was subsequently shared on Reddit.
'He's looking at you like 'don't you f***ing rat me out,'' snarked someone on Reddit, where the photo has over 1000 comments.
The picture appears to show hapless police unable to locate the suspect while he lurks directly above them on the roof, but Grand Rapids law enforcement defended itself, saying that cops had formed a perimeter around the house and did indeed spot the suspect on the roof.
Police say the man was ordered off the roof and taken into custody on domestic dispute charges.
Grand Rapids Police Sgt. Terry Dixon added that he at least hoped whoever took the picture called police and didn't just snap a photo.
The Grand Rapids Police Department has not yet released the name of the suspect.
