Hating Girl Scouts backfires for state lawmaker
Two months after bizarrely assailing the Girl Scouts for "sexualizing young girls" and "becoming a tactical art of Planned Parenthood," Indiana state Rep. Bob Morris of Fort Wayne has received exactly one donation to his reelection campaign. In February, Morris wrote to the Joual Gazette explaining why he declined to sign a resolution honoring the scouts' 100-year anniversary.
Among Morris' reasons was the "fact" that most of the scouts' stated role models were "feminists, lesbians or Communists." Apparently, Morris' viewpoint has failed to resonate with local voters. He raised just $5,000, from a single contributor between Jan. 1 and mid-April.
