Emergency crews were on the scene of a natural gas explosion on the campus of Nyack College in Rockland County on Tuesday afteoon.

The explosion appears to have occurred inside the two-story Sky Island Lodge building at 177 South Hyland Ave.

Seven people have reportedly been injured in the last moing blast.  At least one person has been removed from the scene in an ambulance.

Glass and debris covers the area around the building including a parking lot and several vehicles.

Sky Island Lodge was built as a 30 room mansion in the 1930s, according to the Nyack Villager.  From 1939 to 1945, the mansion was used for people displaced by the war in Germany

Nyack College is a Christian College located about 25 miles north of New York City.
