'Fried hard like a black d***': African-American woman gets a vulgar and racist note on her receipt after ordering wings from a pizza restaurant
Outraged: Loretta Smith Layne says she received a racist note on her receipt after recently ordering chicken wings from a South New Jersey pizza restaurant

A South New Jersey pizza chain is under fire after a black customer says she was given a receipt with a racist note printed on it by the staff.

Loretta Smith Layne tells NBC 10 that she ordered chicken wings from Danny's Pizza Pizzazz in Bridgeton, New Jersey on July 25, asking that the meat be fried hard.

But when she got the order, she read her receipt and noticed a vulgar and racist note written in the special instructions section.

That note read: 'Friend hard like a black d***'

Unacceptable: Layne says she ordered her wings fried hard, and when she received her order from the shop's owner's son (right) she found a note written on it that read: 'friend hard like a black d***'

'I was very offended and upset and disrespected to get those words on a receipt,' Layne said.

Outraged, Layne says she confronted the man who gave her the order, who happens to be the owner Danny Sommeling's son.

However, the man refused to take responsibility for the note, claiming that the receipt didn't come from the restaurant.

Sommeling eventually texted her an apology as well, writing that his son made a bad decision that was 'definitely not professional.'

The denials have left Layne furious.

'He needs to realize what he’s done,' Layne said. 'It’s not acceptable. Not to me. And I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what I went through.'

Denial: Owner Danny Sommeling (pictured) allegedly apologized to Layne over text message, but when confronted by local news cameras, he changed his tune and said he couldn't be sure the receipt originated from his restaurant
