Authorities say fists and chairs were flying during a homeowners meeting at the Springs Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
It's a private golf and tennis club and gated community.
Some members were unhappy with the winner in a board of directors election.
The Desert Sun reports a club security guard even pulled his gun from his holster, but kept it at his side.
