Ex-Cop Anthony Courage, 73, Pleads Not Guilty To Child Rape
BROCKTON, Mass. -- A retired Quincy police officer has been freed on bail after pleading not guilty to child rape.
Anthony Courage, of Hanover, was released on $5,000 bail after entering his plea last week in Brockton Superior Court to charges including rape of a child with force and rape and abuse of a child aggravated by age difference.
The alleged victim was 3 and 4 years old at the time. The last alleged assault took place in December.
The 73-year-old Courage has denied the charges.
The Patriot Ledger reported that he tued himself in in May.
Quincy police said he retired in 2003 after 28 years.
