Elementary school principal Leslie Chance shot her husband dead and dumped his body in an orchard
The principal of an elementary school has been accused of shooting her husband multiple times and dumping his body in an almond orchard, it emerged today.
Leslie Jenea Chance, 46, from Bakersfield, Califoia, was arrested on Thursday and charged with murder after a field worker found the body of Todd Chance, 45.
He was last seen leaving his home at 9.30am last Sunday. His body was found later that day.
Fairview Elementary School staff and parents were in shock the principal could be capable of such a thing and many refused to believe it.

Ke County Sheriff's investigators said they developed probable cause during their investigation that Chance killed her husband. They still do not have a motive.
They found Todd's missing black 2011 Ford Mustang abandoned at an intersection later in their investigation.
Ray Pruitt, spokesperson for the Ke County Sheriff's Office, told 23ABC evidence shows Leslie Chance was driving the car.
'We do believe she is the person who drove it into the neighborhood and left the vehicle in that neighborhood and then walked away,' said Pruitt.
Chance is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.

She has been principal of Fairview for the last three years and with the school district since 1997.
Greenfield Union School District Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Kenneth R. Chichester said: 'People are innocent until proven guilty and we’re going to let the justice system takes its course.'
He described her as He described her as knowledgeable, a hard worker, well-respected and quiet.
Lisa Ramos told the Bakersfield Califoian that she found it difficult to consider that Jenea Chance could have killed her husband.
She said Chance watched her kids grow up at the school over the course of eight years: 'She’s an amazing person. I don’t know why so many people are throwing stones at her so soon.'
