Drewanne Hamrick, Wife Of Dead Pierce Fireman To Be Charged In Child Sex Case
PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. -- Pierce County prosecutor Mark Lindquist tells KIRO 7 Eyewitness News Drewanne Hamrick, the wife of deceased former fire fighter Scott Hamrick, is being charged in connection with the alleged molestation and abuse of the Hamrick’s adopted foster children.
Lindquist told KIRO 7 South Sound reporter Kevin McCarty Hamrick will be charged with two counts of tampering with a witness, one count of unlawful imprisonment, and one count of fourth-degree criminal mistreatment.
According to the charges filed Wednesday in Pierce county superior court, Hamrick told her 14-year-old daughter to recant statements and texts made through a stolen mobile phone accusing her adoptive father of molesting her and her 12-year-old sister, forcing the teenager to sign a statement that the accusations were a lie.
The girl was arrested by the Eatonville police department several months ago for stealing the phone, and an officer viewed the texts. But no investigation was done because she then told officers the molestation claims were a lie. Hamrick is also charged with telling her 12-year-old daughter not to talk about the molestations.
The unlawful imprisonment charge is the result of an allegation that Hamrick locked the 14-year-old girl in a room with no bed, no food, and a bucket for a toilet as punishment, forcing the girl to sleep on a concrete floor and share the room with a family dog. That accusation also resulted in a charge of fourth-degree criminal mistreatment.
Lindquist says Hamrick is expected to surrender to Pierce county sheriff’s detectives Thursday moing and will be arraigned the same day.
