Doctor Bernard Albina Behind Bars on Child Porn Charges

A Houston doctor is in custody on accusations he not only possessed child poography; he produced it.

Beard Albina, 72, is charged with producing child poography and possessing it.

A judge ordered Albina to remain in custody pending his future trial, the US Attoey’s Office says.

The three-count indictment against him states Albina was producing child po as far back as 2003 and had exploited two children to do it.

The investigation began when a person said he had been repeatedly molested by Albina over many years. Investigators later found four people who said Albina had sexually exploited them.

According to the US Attoey’s Office, Albina paid thousands of dollars, almost $200,000, to those children and, in some cases, their mothers.

Authorities, executing search warrants, found images and videos of two children under the age of 10.

Albina was arrested on Monday and will remain in custody until March 19.

If convicted of producing child po, he faces up to 30 years in prison. The possession charge carries another 10 years. Both carry a lifetime sentence of supervised release and registry as a sex offender.
