Detroit Man Jeff Gilbert Lile Who Fled Police With Baby In Car Is Charged
DETROIT -- A man who Detroit police said led them on a chase Monday moing with a 2-year-old boy in his SUV is now facing several charges.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Jeff Gilbert Lile, 40, is charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, attempted larceny from a motor vehicle, second-degree child abuse and fleeing and eluding.
Police said Lile was caught breaking into an off-duty police officer's car just before 11 a.m. while it was parked on the 18400 block of Ford Road. They said Lile then got into his SUV and took off. A chase ensued until Lile pulled over and was arrested on the 9900 block of Littlefield.
