Dartmouth man Clifford J. Botelho Jr killed in single car crash
NEW BEDFORD - A 33-year-old Dartmouth man is dead after he apparently drove his car off the road in New Bedford and struck several trees.
Police say that at about 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, Clifford J. Botelho Jr. was driving alone in an SUV on Route 140 south when the vehicle drifted into the median, hit the trees and came to rest in a wooded area.
They say Botelho was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were still investigating the cause of the accident later Saturday.
