Cookie Monster arrested after pushing two-year-old after parents refused to give him $2 tip for posing for photo
Police arrested a man dressed as the Cookie Monster in Times Square on Sunday after he allegedly shoved and abused two-year-old boy when his mom refused to give him a tip.
Osvaldo Quiroz-Lopez, 33, of Queens, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child when his mother told police he became aggressive after she took a picture of him with her son.
Parmita Kurada, 34, who is a glamorous Bollywood actress and held the title of Miss India Asia Pacific in 2003, said the Cookie Monster impersonator assaulted 2-year-old Samay Katkar when she failed to give him money.

Kurada of Stamford, Connecticut, told the New York Daily News that the family were on a weekend trip to buy a bicycle.
They had just arrived in Times Square when Samay headed towards the larger than life characters that swarm around the area.
The 2-year-old first took a picture with Puss in Boots without any trouble. But it was when Samay headed towards the dough-loving monster that the atmosphere soured.
'The next thing I know, Cookie Monster had already picked up my son and was like, 'Come on, take a picture!'' Kurada told the Daily News.
She continued: '(The monster) was right next to me saying, 'Come on, come on! Give me the money!' I was getting scared. I thought he was going to attack me or he was going to hit me.'
Kurada said Quiroz-Lopez was demanding $2 and started pushing her boy when she refused to pay.

Glamor: Under her maiden name Parmita Katkar, Kurada is a well-known model-tued-actress and television anchor in her native India.
According to court papers, the furry fiend also told the woman: 'You are a b***h, your son is a b*****d and your stuff is trash.'
The monster shoved Samay and knocked him off balance. But police say the two-year-old didn't hit the ground and wasn't injured.
But Kuruda claimed her son was upset, telling the Daily News: 'All day he kept saying 'I don’t like Cookie Monster! I don’t like Cookie Monster!''
Under her maiden name Parmita Katkar, Kurada is a well-known model-tued-actress and television anchor in her native India.
Quiroz-Lopez allegedly told police that he wasn't feeling very playful over the lack of tip. 'She should have money on her and she was wasting my time,' the 'entertainer' said.
But, as reported by the Daily News, an acquaintance of the 33-year-old defended this Cookie Monster's honor.
'He didn’t do anything, the people are lying,' the anonymous friend said, adding that Quiroz-Lopez had worked in Times Square for three years without incident.
Quiroz-Lopez was arraigned Monday on charges including aggressive begging. He didn't enter a plea. Quiroz-Lopez has no prior arrests. His lawyer hasn't retued a message seeking comment.
A judge in Manhattan set the performer’s bail at $1,000.
In February, another Times Square impersonator was arrested for assaulting a tourist.
Phillip Williams, 35, was dressed as Spiderman when he posed with a woman's children. When she told him she did not have any money for the picture he allegedly punched her in the face.
In December 2012, a performer dressed as a Super Mario Brother was accused of groping a woman in Times Square. His case is pending.
Also last year, a fellow Sesame Street impersonator who was dressed up as Elmo was arrested after spewing racist rants in between posing with children.
