Chelsea Ake found dead in cryochamber where temperatures plummet to -110 degrees
It’s become a popular health rejuvenation practice used by athletes and celebrities but a woman in the US who worked at a cryotherapy salon has been found dead in one of the store’s cryochambers.
Whole-body cryotherapy is offered as an alteative to cold-water immersion and allows users to stand in an upright casual which sprays freezing liquid nitrogen to drop the temperature below minus 110 degrees. Patients stay in the freezing temperature for just two to four minutes but police say Chelsea Ake, 24, accidentally spent 10 hours in the cryotherapy chamber after it failed to tu off.

“I do know that she was alone closing the shop up, and then did go into the machine and apparently did not tu off,” her friend, Shae-Lynn Bee, told NBC. “She was my best friend, and I’m going to miss her dearly. ”
