BOSTON -- A Lowell man has been arraigned on a charge of murder in connection with the stabbing death of an employee at the Lowell Transitional Living Center.

Pericles Clergeau, 19, was arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court on the charge of murder.

Police were called to the Lowell Transitional Living Center at 189 Middlesex St. at about 10 a.m. Saturday, where they found Jose Roldan, 34, of Lowell, suffering from stab wounds.

Police said Clergeau was still armed with a knife when officials arrived. It is alleged that Clergeau was in an agitated state and attacked the victim, who was trying to calm him down.

The victim was taken by medical helicopter to Brigham and Woman's Hospital, where he later died.

Lowell District Court Judge Michael Brooks ordered Clergeau held without bail. Clergeau is scheduled to retu to court on March 8 for a pretrial conference.
