105-year-old woman credits bacon for longevity
A 105-year-old Texas woman credits her longevity to bacon.
"I love bacon, I eat it every day," Pearl Cantrell told the Big Country Homepage.
The Richland woman received a ride in the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile to celebrate her long life and love for bacon.
"I want other people to eat bacon, I tell them to. My kids all eat it," Cantrell told the TV station KMSS.
The company gave Cantrell some bacon and plans to send her more.
Cantrell has outlived three of her seven children and her husband, but she remains active with sewing and dancing.
"She's taught us to work hard and to get up every moing and think about living. She's never thought about dying," her daughter, Anno, told the Big Country Homepage.
Cantrell celebrated her most recent birthday with a three-day party that drew more than 200 people to the schoolhouse she attended near Brownwood.
