Wisconsin woman Shanika Minor accused of killing mother's pregnant neighbor added to Most Wanted list
Authorities have added a 24-year-old Wisconsin woman to the list of the United States's 10 Most Wanted fugitives after federal agents said she killed her mother's pregnant neighbor following an altercation over loud music.
Authorities are offering a $100,000 dollar reward for any information leading to the capture of Shanika S. Minor. She is 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes. Authorities waed she is believed to be armed and "extremely dangerous."
Minor has been at-large since March 2016, when investigators say she fatally shot her mother's 23-year-old neighbor in Milwaukee. The neighbor, identified by Milwaukee police as Tamecca Perry, died on March 6, just five days before she was expected to give birth to her third child. According to the FBI, Perry collapsed into the duplex that she shared with Minor's mother and died in front of her two children. Perry's unbo child was also killed in the shooting. Minor and Perry were high school classmates.
On the day before the fatal shooting, the pair argued over Perry playing loud music in her home, according to authorities.
"Apparently Minor believed that the victim had somehow disrespected her or her mother," said FBI Special Agent Chad Piontek, who is investigating the case. "This was a senseless crime and we believe Minor is capable of more violence. We need to capture her so that no one else is harmed."
Minor on March 5 fired a single shot into the air during an argument with Perry outside the pregnant woman's duplex, witnesses told police. The argument stemmed over a complaint from Minor's mother about Perry playing loud music late at night.
Minor's mother attempted to break up the fight and Minor left the area after firing her gun.
"Most people who witnesses the incident thought that was the end of it," Piontek said.
Minor, however, retued to the neighborhood just before 3 a.m. on March 6. She confronted Perry again and Minor's mother once again attempted to intervene, this time by putting herself between the two women.
"Witnesses said Minor reached over her mother's shoulder and fired her gun, striking (Perry) in the chest," according to the FBI.
She fled from the area and has since told acquaintances that she won't tu herself in, federal agents said. Investigators believe she may have contact with people in Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, Georgia, Missouri and Mississippi.
Minor is wanted on charges of first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree intentional homicide of an unbo child. Anyone with information on her whereabouts can contact his or her local FBI office or law enforcement, or submit a tip online.
