Wife: George Zimmerman a 'ticking bomb
GEORGE Zimmermans estranged wife has likened the acquitted Trayvon Martin killer to a "ticking time-bomb" since his murder trial.
Shellie Zimmerman, speaking publicly for the first time since her husband’s domestic violence arrest this week, told talk show host Katie Couric: "I don’t know who George is anymore."
"We were great friends and I thought he was a wonderful person; that's why I married him."
But after his murder trial he became unpredictable, behaving "like a monster", she said.
"I like to think I married a person who was a good person, and going through the past year and a half, I don't know how that changes a person, or how a person's spirit breaks, but it certainly seems that's what happened to him.
"He does seem like a ticking time-bomb."
Days after George Zimmerman was acquitted of murdering Martin, an unarmed black teenager, Shellie Zimmerman called police and claimed that her husband had threatened her.
He was then arrested on Monday for allegedly pointing a shotgun at his new girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe.
Despite her allegations of abuse, Shellie Zimmerman maintained that her husband was not guilty in the shooting of Martin, who many believe was racially profiled by George Zimmerman.
She said she does not think her husband is racist.
