WATCH: Woman suspected of carjacking apparently tries to escape in police cruiser after chase

A high-speed police chase came to an end Easter Sunday when the female suspect appeared to surrender but apparently had other ideas.

According to KNBC, Christy Adair told police Sunday that someone stole a truck right out of the driveway of her Los Angeles home.

"I ran outside and I saw a woman backing my truck out of the driveway, and I had a bag in my hand, and I threw the bag at her," Adair told KNBC. "She put it in drive toward me very fast, so I got out of the way. I just was screaming at her to stop."

The suspect reportedly led police on a high-speed chase through the Simi Valley area, speeding on the freeway and through residential streets. 

Officers eventually used a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver to stop the truck, which spun out. News choppers captured the scene on video as the woman got out of the truck, slowly approached officers with her hands up, and then appeared to rush toward the driver's side door of the police cruiser. Police then tackled the suspect, who was taken to the hospital.
