TV meteorologist Tori Shaw arrested on drug charges

A meteorologist at a Kentucky television station was arrested on Tuesday afteoon after authorities found an indoor marijuana growth operation inside her home.

Tori Shaw, 32, and her husband, Tyler Smoyer, 35, were each arrested on charges of firearm enhanced cultivating five or more marijuana plants, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphealia, according to Kentucky State Police.

Shaw is a meteorologist at WPSD Local 6, an NBC affiliate in Paducah, Kentucky.

Troopers found five marijuana plants, six long guns, two pistols, two silencers, eight boxes of ammunition, a tactical vest, and items used to cultivate marijuana.

The arrests were made after they received a text message tip about an indoor marijuana growth operation, police said in a news release.

Both Shaw and Smoyer were booked in the Graves County jail but have since been released.
