Troopers: Teen George Pjevach On Bicycle Hit, Killed By Car
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a teenager on his bicycle was hit and killed by a car in the Avalon Park area of east Orange County just before 7:00 Friday evening.
According to officials, 16-year-old George Pjevach was crossing Avalon Park Boulevard on his bicycle in the crosswalk when he was hit by a car driven by 23-year-old Juan Parra.
Pjevach was rushed to Florida Hospital East where he was pronounced deceased. FHP officials say he was not wearing a helmet.
Parra and his 17-year-old female passenger suffered only minor injuries.
Troopers say the investigation is ongoing and charges against Parra are pending.
