Texas mom Christy Sheats killed by police after fatally shooting 2 daughters

A mother in Texas was shot and killed by police on Friday evening after she fatally shot her two daughters during a family dispute, say authorities.

According to a KPRC report, 42- year- old Christy Sheats was found outside the family’s Fort Bend home, holding a gun, when police arrived at the scene at about 5 p.m. on Friday, police say. Her two daughters, 22- year- old Taylor, and 17- year- old Madison, were lying in the street. Sheats’ husband, and the victim’s father, Jason Sheats witnessed the crime.

Fazz Zainuddin, a neighbor who witnessed the event, told KPRC that Sheats was instructed by police to drop the gun, but refused to do so. When Sheats began to walk toward one of the bodies, a Fulshear police officer fired a single shot, and killed her.

County Sheriff Troy Nehis told the Houston Chronicle that “It was a family argument that tued into a shooting, but we’re still trying to put the pieces together,”

According to Buzzfeed, Sheats had posted about guns on Facebook in March.

“It would be horribly tragic if my ability to protect myself or my family were to be taken away, but that’s exactly what democrats are determined to do by banning semi-automatic handguns,”
