Target truck plunges into frozen pond after highway crash

The driver of a Target truck in Minnesota had an icy brush with death when his vehicle veered off the highway and plunged into a frozen pond.

The accident occurred near Monticello on Interstate 94 around 6:30 a.m. Friday, the Associated Press reported.

The driver managed to crawl to safety, and was taken to the hospital, treated, and released the same day.

The State Patrol tweeted out updates about the crash, including a photo of the truck half-submerged in water. The pond is about 7 to 8 feet deep and was covered with 6 inches of ice, according to authorities.
