Stash in the attic! Ohio couple Finds $24,000 While Renovating Home
CLEVELAND — Normally, money goes flowing out when an owner undertakes home renovations, but an Ohio couple had the opposite happen.
The unnamed couple said they found a suitcase filled with cash; It was stuffed in the rafters in the ceiling of the basement.
When they opened it up, they found three packages wrapped in what looked like waxed paper and a newspaper, which was dated March 1951.
When they opened the packages, they found stacks of $20, $50 and $100 bills.
The money totaled $23,000
The couple attempted to guess what was inside the secret treasure trove
They took some tantalisingly teasing pictures before revealing the truth
The wax paper covering has preserved the items in the case
Newspaper provided some extra protection for the contents
As they opened each bundle, they were surprised with even greater a fortune
