South Carolina man William Mattson badly beaten over alleged rape of nephew’s girlfriend

A MAN was severely beaten by his nephew after he was accused of raping the young man’s girlfriend.

The beating took place while William Mattson, 52, was being interviewed by police at the home in Conway, South Carolina.

The nephew had come home on New Year’s Eve to find Mattson on top of his girlfriend. After dragging him off her, hitting him and driving him out of the house he called police,Myrtle Beach Online reports.

The police came out to the property and while they were talking to the nephew Mattson retued, reportedly to give his side of the story.

He claimed he and the girlfriend had begun kissing after she came home alone and that afterwards they had gone to bed together and that the sex was consensual. He added that she was naked and he had his clothes on.

At some point while Mattson was giving his version of events the nephew threw himself at his uncle, badly beating him in front of police.

The girlfriend denied Mattson’s story and said he was raping her. Mattson was arrested on charges of criminal sexual misconduct.
