Serial hero Richard Herron, 83, accidentally jumps off overpass to his death as he tries to help crash victim
Richard Herron, 83, leapt over the guardrail to avoid being hit by a car when he was directing traffic around a crashed vehicle, but didn't realize there was a 35-foot drop below. He died of his injuries. Mr Herron had previously pulled a crashed tanker driver from his vehicle before it exploded and helped hurricane victims.
