Search Under Way For Missing 2-Year-Old Vanecia “Feather” Gonzales
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Larimer County sheriff’s deputies were looking for a 2-year-old girl who had not been seen by family members since Aug. 5.
Vanecia “Feather” Gonzales was last seen at a home in northwest Fort Collins, where she had been living with family members since they were granted temporary custody in February.
Officials said family members believe the girl’s mother, Vanessa, took her from the home.
Family reported Feather missing on Aug. 9. They told law enforcement they were conceed for her safety.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office reported that Vanessa Gonzales may be staying at an area hotel or in an RV with an unknown man.
Based on a court order, Gonzales was only allowed supervised visits with her daughter.
The Denver Post reported that Vanessa Gonzales has been arrested a number of times on charges including child abuse, assault and drug possession.
Officials said they did not issue an Amber Alert because they did not have a conce of serious bodily injury or death. They asked anyone with knowledge of the little girl’s whereabouts to call 970-416-1985.
